Built for day traders who want an edge at the open. Session grading, institutional confluence, dynamic stops, and real-time signals — all firing together when the conditions are genuinely right.
Most opening range tools draw a box and leave the rest to you.
Opening Range B+R goes significantly further.
It grades the session before a signal fires, checks whether key institutional levels are in play, confirms that the retest candle has real participation behind it, and places your stop where price structure says it belongs — not at an arbitrary distance.
The first 30 minutes of the US trading session sets the tone for the entire day. Opening Range B+R captures that window, identifies when price makes a genuine breakout, and signals precisely when and where to enter the retest — with your stop and target already calculated.
The result is fewer signals, but significantly better ones.
View on TradingViewFrom the moment the session opens to signal confirmation — every step is automated.
Previous day high/low, pre-market high/low, weekly open, previous week levels, and round numbers are drawn automatically. The opening range box forms and closes. The session is scored out of 10 across five factors — producing a Grade A, B, or C before a signal has fired.
When price breaks the opening range with sufficient displacement, the indicator monitors the retest zone. Confluence is checked — if two or more key levels align at the ORB level, a confluence marker is placed. The ATR-based retest zone adapts to current volatility automatically.
When a confirmation candle forms at the retest with meaningful volume, a signal fires. Entry, stop, and target are drawn on the chart immediately. The stop is placed beyond the nearest swing structure with an ATR buffer — anchored to price logic, not an arbitrary distance.
Real chart, real session, real signal. The indicator running exactly as it would in your live trading environment.
The ORB box forms at the open. Price breaks down through the low with displacement. The retest zone activates. When price returns to the broken level and a confirmation candle forms, the signal fires — with stop and target calculated and drawn automatically. The dashboard top-right shows grade, gap classification, session context, and the active signal in real time.
Every feature exists because a generic ORB tool wasn't enough.
Every session graded A, B, or C before trading begins. Grade A scores 7+ out of 10 across range width, volume, pre-market activity, gap size, and ORB candle character. Choppy range detector identifies sessions where price is directionless — and can suppress signals entirely on low-quality days.
Every signal is checked against all mapped institutional levels — previous day high/low, pre-market high/low, previous week high/low, weekly and monthly opens, and psychological round numbers. Previous day levels carry premium weighting. High-confluence setups get distinct markers and dedicated alerts.
Not all breakouts are real. ORB B+R evaluates breakout quality using both distance and time — a minimum displacement threshold must be met, and price must hold beyond the level before a retest qualifies. Filters out the fakeouts before they reach your signal queue.
Requires genuine price action at the retest zone — not just a strong candle nearby. Hammer, shooting star, and engulfing detection with configurable wick-to-body ratio. Strong close analysis (75%+ range commitment). The confirmation candle must interact with the retest zone specifically, backed by volume against a 20-bar average.
ATR + Structure mode places stops at the nearest swing high or low with an ATR buffer — anchored to price logic, not an arbitrary distance. Fixed percentage mode available as an alternative. Configurable R:R target multiple — default 2R. Persistent SL/TP lines with automatic hit detection and win/loss tracking.
Tracks repeated rejections at the ORB high and low. When multiple rejections stack at a level, the setup is classified as A+ with larger signal markers and separate alert conditions. These are the setups with the highest conviction — the market has tested the level and failed multiple times.
Swing high and low detection with configurable lookback. Automatic trend classification — uptrend, downtrend, or ranging. Signals that align with the prevailing market structure are flagged, giving you an additional confirmation layer without adding another indicator.
Long and short break & retest, A+ setups, high-confluence signals, PDH/PDL confluence, One Candle Rule entries, any-signal catch-all, Grade A session detected, and choppy session warnings. Full TradingView integration with ticker and entry price in every alert message.
Clean dark-navy design with sections for Session, Market, Levels, Displacement, Trade, and Today. Real-time displacement progress tracking, active trade state with entry/stop/target, session stats with win/loss streaks. Defaults to off for a cleaner first-load experience — toggle it on in settings when you want the full breakdown.
A fixed horizontal line marks the 9:30 ET opening price across each session — one of the most watched intraday levels. Acts as a natural price magnet for gauging directional bias, identifying mean-reversion opportunities, and adding context to break and retest entries. Factored into the confluence engine so signals near it score higher. On by default.
Secondary entry system for when the primary retest has already fired. Detects counter-trend candles near the broken level and arms a trigger on their high or low. Independent signal with its own stop and target calculation. Can be toggled on or off — a second-chance entry with clearly defined risk.
Configured correctly for any US equity or index from the moment you add it to a 1-minute chart. No setup required.
Set the length of the opening range window to match your preferred trading style.
Restrict signals to only the highest-conviction session grades — or see everything and decide yourself.
ATR and structure is recommended. Fixed % available for those who prefer a defined-risk approach.
Default 2R — for every pound risked you're targeting two pounds of profit. Adjust to match your risk profile.
Toggle volume confirmation on the retest candle. Recommended on for US equities with reliable volume data.
Identifies sessions where price is ping-ponging without direction and suppresses signals entirely. Keeps you out on the days that drain accounts.
Defaults to off for a cleaner chart on first load. Toggle it on when you want the full session breakdown, stats, and trade tracking.
Marks the 9:30 ET open price as a horizontal line. Factored into confluence scoring. Toggle off if you prefer fewer lines on chart.
Array-based cleanup automatically purges old drawings beyond your set window. Keeps your chart clean and loading fast.
Any market with a defined opening session. Optimised for US equities and indices (SPY, QQQ, AAPL, META, NAS100, US30) but also works on forex, crypto, and futures. The key is having a clear session open — the strategy is built around that liquidity event.
The 1-minute chart for the clearest retest and candle confirmation. The ORB window is time-based, not bar-based — it works on any intraday timeframe, optimised for 1-minute and 5-minute.
Typically one to three. The session grading and displacement filters are deliberately strict — you'll get fewer signals than most indicators, but higher quality ones. On choppy days you may get zero signals, and that's by design.
No. Signals are confirmed on the close of the entry candle and do not repaint. What you see on the chart is exactly what would have been available to trade in real time.
A Grade A session scores 7 or above out of 10 across range width, opening volume, pre-market activity, gap at the open, and ORB candle character. These are the days where the ORB setup has the highest statistical edge. A built-in choppy range detector identifies sessions where price is directionless — the exact conditions where most traders give back their profits.
No. ORB B+R is built on price action fundamentals: support, resistance, breakouts, and retests. If you understand that when resistance breaks it becomes support, you understand the strategy. The indicator handles the complexity so you can keep execution simple.
